Opening on Friday 10 April 2015, 6 p.m.
On 10 April Spazio Nour will open its doors to coincide with miart 2015. Spazio Nour, an artist's atelier included in the M-WAM - Milano World Arts Map project, is a meeting place for different artistic forms and cultures. On this occasion the works of the Iranian artist Mahmoud Saleh Mohammadi will be exhibited alongside those of the Milanese artist Monica Sgrò. The poetics of the two artists come together through their exploration of the sacredness that characterises them. The search for the sacred is recognised as a human necessity, it becomes the unifying element through diversity.
Mahmoud Saleh Mohammadi is an Iranian artist, born in Tehran in 1979, on the first day of spring. He graduated in Iran from the Elmikarbordi University of Art in Karaj, then continued his studies in Italy at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. He lives and works in Milan. Her research, essentially pictorial, is often integrated into installations and performances.
Monica Sgrò was born in Milan in 1973. She graduated in sculpture from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and was involved in the struggle for the reform of the Italian Academies. Her artistic research explores the relationship between the individual and the sacred, through hieratic forms called Monks. She also works as a teacher, after years of studying pedagogy according to the methods of Steiner and Munari.
